Once upon a time in Texas, there was a girl with an appetite and a dream...

Stop those cravings!

I've done it! I've found the cure for I've-been-in-the-house-all-morning-and-I'm-still-in-my-pajamas-at-noon munchies!

Here's what you do:

1. Open a colomba (this is a totally addictive sweet bread covered with sugar pellets traditional at Easter in Italy, but you can use whatever desirable fattening things are found in the pantry)
2. Eat a little
3. Go back for more
4. Repeat steps 1-3 until munchies are gone

Genius! Pure genius!

I hate you for two reasons...well really three...

1. You are in pj's.

2. You are in pj's at noon.

3. You still have a colomba! ahhhhh! Life is so unfair!

Tracie,

I would make some remark about twin evils of gluttony and sloth, but I am too filled with envy.

I had some hope of being able to morning munch Italian-style when this "Italian" bakery / grocery / cafe place opened up down the street. I headed down there saturday morning giddy with anticipation thinking I would be gorging on things like you show in your pictures, but all they had were little dehydrated looking croissants and a few danishes with shrivelled spots of jelly on them. That's not even ITALIAN. Danishes? Helloooo? It's too unfair! No nutella AT ALL. No melty nutella with marzipan inside those what-d'ya-call-em - cornichon??? Why can't I get that right?

So I was thinking that we really need you here to open up the real deal. Why is so hard for people to get it right?

Oh, and the carbonara they served had hard over-cooked pancetta that smoked up the whole dish - it was actually inedible.

See, we NEED you here! I know you could do it right.

But really, remind me what those thingies were called with the nutella in them so I can go down there and tell them what they need to be serving up to Italy-missing Texans.

sounds and looks deelish... my current munchies-cure is digestive biscuits (McVities, obviously) with crunchy peanut butter on top.

yumyum... we found bread with that sugar stuff on top in Vienna and then I found packets of it in the supermarket.... and now those packets are in my cupboard. Did you know that the Dutch(hubby) sprinkle that sugar on their bread for breakfast??????

Somebody actually eats Colomba? I thought you were just meant to have them hanging around the house, gathering dust until about Christmas! Please stop giving them to us!!!
