Before you ask, that round thing is an ice bucket. Here's the post that contained this picture and just happened to be the very first in my not-so-consistent series called TheWeekly Wino. Ci vediamo lunedi'...
I was just wondering why you haven't posted anything lately - Bloglines haven't notified me of any new posts - so I clicked through anyway and discovered that my feed wasn't working. You've been posting a whole lot, I see. Good! And while I think it's a shame that you're not in Italy when I'll be there, I hope you enjoy Texas!
I'm thinking of visiting Ischia in the summer for 3-4 weeks and I'm wondering if you can recommend any budget friendly apartments/holiday villas where I might stay (Me, the wife, two year old daughter). Thanks.
Does leaving your former life to live in paradise really need much explanation? I had a dream to live in Italy. After four years of teaching and almost as many summers traveling, I knew that something had to be done. I needed to cook every day with that fresh, locally-grown produce. I needed to connect with people who made their own wine and bought their whole chickens with the feet still on. I wanted to live in a culture whose inherent passion for gastronomy was not born of pretense, but of the knowledge that what is so fundamental to life should also be ENJOYED. This, for me, is the definition of "la dolce vita Italiana." While it may not always be sweet, it is always Italian.

I had the same Bloglines issue--I had no idea you had even gone home! That'll teach me to rely on allegedly clever gadgets.

Hi Tracie,
I'm thinking of visiting Ischia in the summer for 3-4 weeks and I'm wondering if you can recommend any budget friendly apartments/holiday villas where I might stay (Me, the wife, two year old daughter). Thanks.
